
MACHINE OPERATOR

The purpose of this position is to supervise machine and ancillaries, ensuring the final product meets the required quality and hygiene standards, in accordance with company procedures. The Machine Operator reports to the Shift Supervisor.
The skills development process for the Machine Operator is based on performing of the following activities:

can set, start, monitor and maintain the machine and its ancillaries to ensure process efficiency and quality and conformity of final product. Ideally, knows and can describe the different parts of the machine and can support expert figures when troubleshooting issues.

knows the steps of the color change process and can execute it; can adjust blow pin height and set blow pins (centralization) independently; can perform mixer cleaning independently; can perform daily basic repairs and carry out weekly and monthly maintenance on the machine and its ancillaries.

can perform a complete mould change and restart production, can change and sharpen the parison knife, and can set line independently.*

can troubleshoot issues to optimize productivity and quality.*

knows the process parameters of the machine, can set them, and can set up and change recipes. *

can act as Shift Supervisor deputy if needed.
At any time during their skills development process, Machine Operators are required to perform the following activities:
HSE STANDARDS:

Follows safety rules according to the company policies and regulations. Maintains order, organization, and cleanliness in all assigned areas, working in line with correct workplace hygiene practices, with the aim to be an example to others.
PRODUCTION MATERIALS HANDLING:

Ensures proper handling of both raw material and post-production materials. * *
PRODUCTION DOCUMENTS AND REPORT WRITING:

Can fill out production documents, quality control sheets, and record data.* *
QUALITY CHECKS:

Performs product controls (e.g., visual controls, weight verifications, etc.) using measuring instruments, following the product control plan and records outcomes on the appropriate forms.* *
COMMUNICATION and COOPERATION:

Reports and records all machine stoppages in real time and informs the shift supervisor in case of any irregularity.

Supports technical staff to solve minor technical problems affecting the quality of the product and production process, focusing on the relationship between specific parameters and desired result.

Promotes effective communication between team and Manager.

Interacts with different business functions to drive high performance culture.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Good knowledge of plastic molding technologies (EBM and/or SBM and/or IM)

Good applied knowledge of measuring instruments and techniques
-
Ability to operate manual and electric forklifts

Basic applied knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical and/or electronic systems

Basic applied knowledge of WCM standards

Basic knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment rules and practices

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Diploma in electrical or mechanical studies
